Vauen was founded as Vereinigte Pfeifenfabriken in Nuremberg in 1901 and is Germany’s largest tobacco pipes manufacturer.
In search of a term that will be easy for all tobacco pipe friends, Ernst Eckert, son of Adolf Eckert invented a new name for the business in 1909: VAUEN.VAUEN was one of the first manufacturers to introduce a simple paper filter in 1921. Further research and development led Dr. Perl Junior on the 9 mm diameter active carbon filter first introduced in 1934 as a global innovation. A great success!
After 1945, the company managed to overcome the devastating consequences of the war with an unwavering pioneering spirit. VAUEN grew up to become a world-famous company.
It is time for a Vauen !
