The brand name Jolly Roger is the result of the effort and hard work of the German tattoo master pipe carver Roger Wallenstein when he decided to add a new series of wide circulation to his successful artisan creations. The name is inspired by the adventures and legends of the Pirates as it is the traditional English name for the pirate flags from the early 18th century. A skull and crossbones in a black cloth are the most common pirate flag used by famous pirates during the 1710s.
