OLIVA – Centuries of love for tobacco, cigars and life!!!

Melanio Gran Reserva takes the name of the company’s founder and constitutes the flagship of the company. Like the Serie V, it is a full of flavour and at the same time soft cigar. The Oliva Serie V Melanio No. 4 Petit Corona is a fantastic cigar that consist of fillers aged in the Nicaraguan estate-grown Habano ligero, known for a more distinct leaf than the Esteli or Condega regions, famous for its robust and rich flavors plus its sweet Jalapa tobaccos. These cigars are hand-rolled using expertly fermented ligero fillers with no soft spots, releasing an incredible aroma from the wrapper such as cedar, aged tobacco and the foot released hints of chocolate and peppery spice notes. These tobaccos are full flavored yet laced with smooth flavors then finished in a delicious Ecuadorian-grown Sumatra-seed wrapper and Nicaraguan filler in a Nicaraguan binder that creates a perfectly-balanced flavor.

Each Oliva cigar contains a piece of rich history that goes back many years  to 1886 where Melanio Oliva cultivated tobacco in Pinar del Rio, Cuba. In the late 1950s, the grandson of the Gilberto Oliva family was forced to leave his homeland and go to Nicaragua. Gilberto’s insistence and constant search for the best tobacco led the 4th generation of the family to turn these quality tobacco into handmade premium-quality cigars. Then they joined forces with the Belgian Vandermarliere family, founders of J. Cortes, who shared the same struggle for cigars, tradition and family. Since
then, the two grandsons  of the families, Fred and Jose, are in the “steering wheel” keeping their traditions and supporting each other on both sides of the Atlantic.
