Description
With Habanos’ “Regionals” program, each official distributor can release cigars for the specific regions-countries it serves under specific conditions. Regionals come in numbered boxes. Each distributor chooses the cigars, size and box they wish to become the Regional and places their order with Habanos SA. The regionals wear the ring of the brand they come from and a second one that states the region (the country or region) to which it is intended. In 2009, the first Regional for Greece and Cyprus is released, Grecia y Chipre is written on the box, Bolivar Greco. In 2011, the second Regional of Greece and Cyprus, Ramon Allones Macedonian, was released. In 2022 saw the release of Sancho Panza Homer written in Greek (ΟΜΗΡΟΣ), a 54 ring magnum which was released in 15000 cases.

Like many other Habanos companies, Sancho Panza borrows its name from a world’s literature masterpiece. In the famous novel of Don Quixote from Cervantes in the17th century we meet Sancho Pancha, the faithful servant of the knight. Its name was first used for a Habano in 1848 and since then it has retained the reputation of good quality among fanatical cigar smokers. The company’s range includes some of the largest Habanos in market. They use a medium-intensity blend of tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo area and are handmade “totalmente a mano” using the long filler “tripa larga” method.
