Vauen was founded as the Vereinigte Pfeifenfabriken in Nuremberg in 1901 and is the largest German manufacturer of tobacco pipes.

In the search for a term that would be easy for all tobacco pipe friends, Ernst Eckert, son of Adolf Eckert coined a new name for the business in 1909: VAUEN.

VAUEN was one of the first manufacturers to introduce a plain paper filter in 1921. Further research and development led Dr. Perl Junior 9mm diameter activated carbon filter first introduced in 1934 as a worldwide innovation. A great success!

After 1945, the company succeeded in overcoming the devastating consequences of war in a steadfast pioneering spirit. VAUEN has grown to become a world-renowned business.

It is time for a Vauen!
