VAUEN, in collaboration with designer
Marcus Bischof, created the RIVA series. The unique design gives Riva a modern
yet sophisticated character.
The bowl is curved but the straight, continuous
cut along the body gives the feel of a straight pipe. It has a smooth brown
finish and the Fishtail-type
mouthpiece fits perfectly to the body because it
is integrated into the rest of the bowl briar wood piece.

Vauen was founded as Vereinigte Pfeifenfabriken in Nuremberg in 1901 and is the biggest smoking pipes manufacturer.

In the search for a more recognizable brand name, Ernst Eckert, son of Adolf Eckert renamed the company to VAUEN.

VAUEN was one of the first manufacturers that inserted a simple paper filter in 1921. More research and development lead Dr. Perl junior to the active charcoal filter with a 9 mm diameter that was first introduced in 1934 as a worldwide innovation. A huge success!

After 1945 the company, managed to overcome the catastrophic consequences of the war with an innovative spirit. VAUEN became a company with worldwide fame.
