The PuroTemp Gauge by Xikar is designed to ensure accuracy without the need for calibration. It adheres to strict accuracy specifications and requires no maintenance. On its screen, you can view the relative humidity and temperature of your humidor.

It features a modern design reminiscent of a car speedometer. It does not require calibration and guarantees accuracy of approximately +/- 2%. It reads humidity from 20% to 95% and temperatures in both Fahrenheit and Celsius scales with an accuracy of +/- 1%.

It refreshes the readings every 10 seconds and comes with a magnet for placement.

The history of Xikar began in 1994 in Kansas. Kurt Van Keppel, (now the president of Xikar), wanted to purchase a good cigar cutter but found many of the cheaper models and high-end models to be lacking in performance. So, he started with Scott Almsberger to design a more ergonomic cigar cutter. The result was the Xi cutter, which they first manufactured in their garage and is now the market leader.

XIKAR comes from the word “sikar,” which is said to be the first Spanish spelling of the Taino word for cigar. The Taino people were the indigenous populations of Spain and Cuba, where Columbus first landed when he discovered the “New World” and brought tobacco with him. They changed the S to an X (representing 2 blades) and had the X cut the i, like a cutter cutting a cigar!
