Serie V Melanio Toro Grande 2020 is a limited release offering of only 3000 boxes worldwide from Oliva as part of their Melanio range. These Limited Edition cigars are dressed with an oily Ecuadorian wrapper, over select Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos. Rich with a malty cocoa sweetness, accented with toasted nuts, chocolate-chip shortbread, dried dates, spice and black pepper, and just a suggestion of a citrussy twang with sweet hickory on the finish.

Each Olivacigar contains a piece of rich history that goes back many years  to 1886 where Melanio Oliva cultivated tobacco in Pinar del Rio, Cuba. In the late 1950s, the grandson of the Gilberto Oliva family was forced to leave his homeland and go to Nicaragua. Gilberto’s insistence and constant search for the best tobacco led the 4th generation of the family to turn these quality tobacco into handmade premium-quality cigars. Then they joined forces with the Belgian Vandermarliere family, founders of J. Cortes, who shared the same struggle for cigars, tradition and family. Since then, the two grandsons  of the families, Fred and Jose, are in the “steering wheel” keeping their traditions and supporting each other on both sides of the Atlantic.
