In 1818 the Duke of Tuscany created a factory that produced Tuscan cigars. A pack of leaves that was left outside to dry, got wet from an unexpected rain. The summer heat started the fermentation and instead of throwing away the tobacco, they decided to make cigars with it. They sold them to Florence. After the cigars became famous they were put into production.
