Toscano Classico was first introduced to the public in 1930 and quickly became extremely successful due to its traditional and pleasant flavor. It is entirely made from Kentucky-type tobacco, both for the wrapper leaf and the inner leaves, which are processed according to an old tradition passed down through generations.

The main characteristic of Kentucky tobacco production is the curing process using fire, a method invented in the USA to create the unique temperature and humidity conditions. Even today, the heat is generated by burning oak logs, one of the oldest and most traditional methods. Toscano Classico requires at least 6 months of aging under continuous supervision by workers at the Cava de’ Tirreni factory.

In 1818, the Duke of Tuscany, Ferdinand III, established a tobacco factory that produced Toscano cigars. Toscano cigars have a characteristic elliptical shape with rounded ends that have a smaller diameter than the central part. Typically, Toscano cigars have an uneven, sometimes not smooth surface, with characteristic features at their two ends. These structural irregularities are more pronounced in hand-rolled cigars and are not considered defects but rather characteristics of Toscano cigars. Today, Toscano brand cigars are manufactured by Manifatture Sigaro Toscano SpA located in Lucca and Cava De Tirreni.
