Fonseca was founded in the 1890s from Don Francisco Fonseca. He was a handsome man who was interested in his appearance something that was passed on to the production of his cigars dressing them with paper silk wrapper. This tradition continues until today for the 4 cigars of the company.Fonsecas are made with tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo area and have a light taste. All are made “totalmente a mano” (they are 100% handmade) and in three of them the “tripa larga” or “long filler” proccess is used and in the fourth one the “tripa corta” or “short filler” one.
